Can I take circular knitting needles on the airplane?

Am I able to to take circular needle knittings with me on the plane (in my carry on luggage)? Thank you

    My advise, is to avoid carrying them in your hand carry.
    Carry them in your checked baggage.

    Items needed to work on a Needlepoint project are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage with the exception of circular thread cutters or any cutter with a blade contained inside which cannot go through the checkpoint and must go in your checked baggage. As a Flight Attendant, I see psgrs w/knitting needles often.
